Obituary of John Patrick Giblin

John Patrick Giblin passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on April 23^rd at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, MD at the young age of 75.  His enthusiasm and charisma for life will be greatly missed as will his sense of humor.

He was born to John Patrick Giblin Sr. and Florence McElroy Giblin in Passaic, NJ.  John and Lorraine knew each other their whole lives through the friendship of their parents.  He married the love of his life, Lorraine, and spent their first year living in England where they enjoyed traveling throughout Europe. After England, they returned to NJ and had two daughters, Jennifer and Mandy. They enjoyed living in Mountain Lakes and Flanders, NJ for a total of 40 years before retiring to Church Hill, MD.

John had a long and successful career in Sales and Marketing in the Paper and Plastics industries in which he most recently enjoyed his position of Vice President of Marketing. He was a hard worker but equally enjoyed his time off at home. He loved making furniture and woodworking, gardening,  and fixing things around the house.  He had a love of history and read all the time, with a particular fondness for military history. His biggest gift in life was his family.  He was an amazing husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. 

He leaves behind his loving wife of 52 years, Lorraine Giblin; adoring children Mandy Lindmark and her husband Curt, Jennifer Patterson and her husband Warren; charming grandchildren Katie, Mitchell, Rebecca and Chloe; caring brother Edward Giblin; nephews David, Danny and Matthew Giblin and many more dear friends.

Friends and family may pay their respects on Sunday, April 29 from 1:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. at the Norman Dean Funeral Home for Services, 16 Righter Avenue, Denville.  Funeral to begin on Monday, April 30^th at 10:00 am from the funeral home with interment at 11:30 am at Restland Memorial Park, 77 DeForest Avenue, East Hanover.  Please share a memory or leave a condolence for the family.
