Obituary of Kenneth Lownes Walthour

Please share a memory of Kenneth to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Kenneth Lownes Walthour passed away peacefully at the age of 81 with his wife by his side at home in White Meadow Lake, Rockaway, New Jersey.  His sense of humor and selflessness will be dearly missed.

He was born to George and Helen Walthour (Sanwald), in Passaic, NJ.  He met his high school sweetheart, Elaine Walthour, and soon after went to the Army to serve his country for two years.  When he came home he worked as a printing estimator for 40 years, eventually retiring.  He had three beautiful children and raised his family in the White Meadow Lake section of Rockaway Township, New Jersey. Kenneth loved being in his garage doing woodwork, fishing out on the lake or having his feet in the sand at the Jersey Shore. He was a committed fan to the New York Giants, New York Rangers and New York Yankees; he even coached his son’s football team.  Kenneth was a music buff and was always the life of the party, making people smile and laugh.

His legacy will be lived on through his wife of 58 years, Elaine Walthour; children Kenneth G. Walthour, Christopher Walthour and his significant other Susan Anderson and Daniel Walthour and his wife Gina; grandchildren Robert, Derek, Nicole, Joey, Dylan, Eric and Emma; great-grandson Ryan; brother George Walthour and his wife Jean and many other close relatives and friends.

Friends and Family may visit on Friday, April 20 at the Norman Dean Home for Services, 16 Righter Avenue, Denville from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.  A graveside service will be at the Rockaway Presbyterian Cemetery, 35 Church Street, Rockaway, N.J. on April 21, at 9:00 a.m.  In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or American Heart Association by way of www.inmemoryof-memorial.org. Please share a memory or leave a condolence for the family.
