Obituary of Allen Russell Hopler, Sr.
Allen Russell Hopler, Sr., of Denville, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on April 13, 2018 at St. Clare’s Hospital in Denville at age 84.
Born and raised in Denville to the late Russell and Edna Hopler, he has been a resident here his entire life. Allen proudly served our country in the United States Army. In 1957 he married the love of his life, Lucille Mae Walley and together they raised their family. He made a very successful career for himself as a Surveyor for Jersey Central Power & Light in Morristown. Allen was a true outdoorsman; he loved to go fishing and hunting. He even built his own tree stands for hunting. He was a loving and caring husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend who will be sorely missed.
He leaves only joyful memories to his beloved wife of 61 years, Lucille; his loving children, Allen R. Hopler, Jr. and his wife Lori and Cynthia Vanderhoof; his cherished grandchildren, Theresa Hammill, Virginia Hopler, and Nicole Hopler; his adored great-granddaughter, Trinity Pesoli; his loyal pup, the late Maggie; and many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
Public Visitation will take place on Wednesday, May 9th from 11 am – 1 pm with Funeral Service beginning at 1 pm at Norman Dean Home for Services, 16 Righter Ave., Denville. Burial will follow at Denville Cemetery. Please leave a special memory or condolence for his family.
