Please share a memory of Henry to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Henry Brown, Rockaway

“We remember their love, when they can no longer remember.”

Henry I. Brown passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 5, 2018 after a courageous bout with alzheimers.  He was 71years young.  A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, April 10th at 10 am at the Norman Dean Home For Services, 16 Righter Ave, Denville.  Interment to follow at St. Cecelia’s Cemetery, Rockaway.  Visiting hours will be held on Monday, April 9th from 4-8 pm.  In lieu of flowers, donations in his name may be made to the good work of the Alzheimer’s Association by way of www.inmemoryof-memorial.org

Henry was born in Rockaway to the late Walter and Laura.  After his schooling he was drafted into the US Army where he served time in Germany.  Upon his honorable discharge, he married his longtime sweetheart Jean Walter and the couple started a family of their own.  Henry worked hard as a mechanic providing a good life for his family.  He was kind, deliberate and proud of his family and country.  He was a true patriot and served as Commander four times with the Rock Den American Legion.  He enjoyed his time spent there through the years, but was his happiest when the grandkids were in the room and the Reeses peanut butter cups were plenty.

Predeceased by his son Thomas and his brother Harold; he leaves a lifetime of memories to his wife Jean of 49 years; sons Russell (Kimberly) and Robert (Jill); his daughter Sheri Pittaro (Jaime); his grandchildren Robert, Patrick, Shannon and Kaylie; his sisters Harriet and Helen; his loyal canine Lacie and many more relatives and friends.
