Obituary of Lilah M. Taylor
Lilah Taylor, 66, of Rockaway Township, passed away peacefully on February 22, 2018 at home.
Lilah was born and raised in Stanhope, NJ. She was the daughter of the late Steven and Helen Carrell and the granddaughter of Lilah and Joseph McMickle who was Superintendent/Principal of Netcong High School and Stanhope Elementary School.
Lilah was predeceased by her late daughter Quinta Lynne Axelsen. She is survived by her husband Kenneth and his family, her sister Janet Carrell, her brother Robert Carrell, and her nephew Anthony Carrell, his wife Lori (Sacco) and two daughters, Ava and Gia.
Lila worked for AT&T Bell Laboratories for many years and retired in 1999. She was the President of the NJ Deaf Senior Housing, Inc. and her mission was to build the Deaf Senior Housing Facility in the state of NJ, with the support of her board members.
Visiting hours will be held on Sunday, February 25th from 1-5 pm at the Norman Dean Home For Services, 16 Righter Avenue, Denville. Private interment will be at Stanhope Union Cemetery with her family.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the N.J. Deaf Senior Housing, Inc. (NJDSH), by way of www.inmemoryof-memorial.org.
