Obituary of David William Morrison

Please share a memory of David to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

David William Morrison, Sr., age 82, of Kinnelon, NJ and Bradenton, FL, surrounded by his loving family, went to be with his Lord after a long struggle with Alzheimer/Dementia.

Dave grew up in Ridgefield Park, NJ.  He married and raised his family in White Meadow Lake, Rockaway, NJ.  Dave began his working career at UPS and maintained ownership and leadership positions in trucking and delivery for more than thirty years.

In Dave’s early years he was a stand-out athlete and later enjoyed coaching youth sports. Dave was a US Army veteran.  He was a Ridgefield Park volunteer fireman and was instrumental in starting the White Meadow Lake Fire Department. There, he served as the fire company’s first President.  Dave was very active in the White Meadow Lake Community Club and at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church. Dave was known for the lifelong friendships he made, his generosity, and his total devotion and love of his family.

Dave was the beloved husband of 59 years to Connie Wacha Morrison also of Ridgefield Park. Dave was preceded in death by his son Drew John Morrison and his sister and three brothers. He was a devoted father to son David William Morrison, Jr of New Haven, CT, daughter Diane Morrison Pierpont and husband Robert of Kinnelon NJ, and daughter-in-law Rebecca and her husband Charlie Covielo and her son Louis.  Dave was an adoring grandfather of Sarah and her husband Paul, Johnny, Rob, and Morgan.  He was also a proud great grandfather of Daniel, Drew, and Margaret.

The family will be celebrating Dave’s life at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, 10 Knoll Drive, Rockaway/Denville, NJ on Saturday, January 6th at 11 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, please bring a friend to your place of worship or go with a friend to their place of worship and celebrate Dave’s good life in prayer.
