Dorothy "Dottie" Weber Gwynn passed away in her sleep on December 14, 2017 with her daughter by her side. She was 88. Dottie was born in Baltimore Maryland and grew up in Anne Arundel County, Maryland attending Glen Bernie High school. She received her B.A. in English and Education from the University of Maryland and taught high school English, most recently at Herndon High School in Fairfax County Virginia where she was the chairperson of the gifted and talented program. She and her late husband John A. Gwynn moved to Roswell Georgia after retirement to be near their son and his family. A cherished member of the communities she touched, Dottie was a member of Roswell Georgia's historical society and was an active member of St. David's Episcopal Church. Her impact continued later in life as the founder and chairperson of Roswell Primetimers, a social organization for seniors. Dottie was an outgoing women who always brought people together. She will be remembered by her family as a devoted wife to the late John A. Gwynn, a kind mother to her two children, Leslie Doyle and Matt Gwynn, and a best friend and little sister to her brother Donald Weber. She was a loving grandparent to Rachel Durkan, Kevin White, David Gwynn, and Caroline Gwynn. She lived to have the great joy of meeting her great grandson Caiden Durkan. She will be dearly missed and always remembered. A memorial service and gathering will be held at the Norman Dean Funeral Home, 16 Righter Avenue, Denville NJ 07834 www.normandean.com from 2:00 pm to 4:00 PM with a service beginning at 2:00PM, on Thursday December 21, 2017.
