Obituary of Robert Privitera
Robert Privitera of Rockaway passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 13, 2017. He shared 87 years of love and faith with all who knew him. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, December 18, 2017 at 10:30 am at St. Bernard’s Parish, 446 Mt. Hope Rd. Wharton. Funeral from the Norman Dean Home For Services, Denville beginning at 9 am. Friends and relatives may also visit on Sunday from 2-6 pm at the funeral home. Donations in his name may be made to the good work of St. Jude Childrens’ Research Hospital by way of www.inmemoryof-memorial.org.
Bob was born in 1930 into a big Italian family. He was raised in Union City and after his schooling he enlisted into the US Army, proudly serving our country. Upon his honorable discharge, he met Antoinette Pullano. After a whirlwind romance, the couple married on June 5, 1954 at St. Ann’s in Hoboken. They eventually settled in Bloomfield where they would start a family of their own. Bob worked for Worthington Corp. for many years, retiring in 1992. He was a n avid reader, a proud Veteran and a loyal NY Yankee fan. Above all, he loved and adored his wife and his family.
He leaves beautiful memories to his dear Antoinette of 63 years; children Phil (Carol) Privitera and Laura (Larry) Kaufman; grandchildren Nicole (Manny) Calderon, Monica Ciasullo, Joseph Privitera and Harrison and Justin Kaufman; his great grandchildren Cristian, Lucas and Alanna; his brother Joseph Privitera and sister in laws Frances Privitera and Rose Pullano; and many more dear relatives and friends. His siblings Theodore, Philip, Serena and Rosemary passed previously.
