Dick brought so much joy into my life and the life of others through his generous sharing of knowledge about fly tying and fly fishing, and wonderful stories about all the people he met during his life through fly fishing. Though we often kidded him about how often he repeated them, I never tired of his stories, particularly the way he told them. I always enjoyed Dick's honesty and his companionship, and can't help but think of him every time I tie a fly to my tippet. My many recollections of Dick always manage to put a smile on my face, and I will miss him deeply. I only hope that I can be as active and remain as passionate about life as Dick was when I reach his age. Thanks for the memories, Dick! My most sincere condolences to Ray and all other members of his family. (I’m sure that, at this very moment, he is helping Ted Williams tie a better salmon fly.)
