Anthony was born in Denville to William and Joyce Egan. He graduated from Morris Knolls in 1981 and attended the University of Tennessee before enlisting with the US Marine Corps. Tony loved being a Marine and after an honorable discharge he began a 29 year career in the pharmaceutical industry. He also furthered his education, ultimately earning his MBA in Business Administration. In 2002, he married his sweetheart Letitia McCarthy and the couple settled in Blairstown and started a family of their own. Tony was a devoted and adoring husband and dad.
Tony had a lifelong interest in martial arts and wrestling. He was a 7th degree Black Belt Shihan and loved jiu jitsu. He was a wrestler and coached the sport for about 10 years. His impact to his students on the mat reached farther than he ever knew.
Tony was an awesome and proud Dad. Above anything in this world he loved being Mason’s Dad. He cherished their time together and made every day count.
Tony was a blessing to all who knew him and although his time here all to short, we are better people for having had him in our lives and will be forever grateful.
He leaves beautiful memories to his wife Letitia “Tisha” (nee McCarthy) and his adored son Mason; his mother Joyce Egan and his step mother Maralyn Egan; his loyal canine Maverick; brother Patrick and his wife Jennifer, nephew Brandon, niece Nicole; brother and sister-in-law David and Rebecca Haller, nieces Grace and Claire; and many more dear relatives, friends, co workers and fellow Marines. He was preceeded in death by his father William.
