My name is Lori Lauersen and I worked with Paula at GSK. We did not work closely and have been working in different areas in recent years. I have just learned of her passing and wanted to express my sympathy to her family. Paula was an absolute ray of sunshine. I enjoyed seeing her and spending time with her. Her smile and positivity radiates in my memories. May God continue to give you the strength you need during this difficult time.

Paula was one of the strongest woman I have ever known. A talented leader, wonderful speaker and loving person She often spoke in church. Paula and Willie were in the founding group for our Toastmasters International. Advancing many levels through her powerful speeches Paula was a force. She loved life so much that she fought and fought the disease. Many will miss Paula as we recall our memories of her happy face.

Dearest Willie and family:
Words cannot express my sympathies to loose Paula. I know even though her pain is over, it does not provide comfort in your broken hearts.
I worked with her at GSK and was part of Toastmasters with her. Her laughter and energy always kept the joint a jumpin'. She helped push me to be a better speaker and person and to even learn to accept the flaws of others and move forward in my own life.
I know that above and beyond all the exterior she expressed and showed and shared, she love Willie more than anything. Marriage is tough heaven knows but she never faltered and Willie always her most cherished friendship and the balance in her life. From a far, I adored it - myself now twice divorced from my ex-husband I learned that valuable lesson from Paula. To have it go the distance, you have to be best friends first. Often people refer to their mate as husband or wife - not Paula, it was always Willie. No one ever had to guess who Willie was. We all always knew. Her family always first and foremost.
Paula working so long and hard at GSK just to ensure that Willie would be ok in the long haul. I still shake my head at it. She pushed herself and always committed to everything she did.
She and I always prayed for each other with our various ills and heavy hearts (usually mine). She often spoke of going to church with Willie on those days when she felt up to it.
Enough said. My deepest sympathies and prayers for all of you now and in the coming days as you remember the joys, laughter, tears and love shared with Paula.

Willie and family - my heart aches for such a brilliant talented caring kind and strong wilful fun loving lady!! I really and truly consider my self so blessed to have known her and worked with her and she allowed me to call her friend! She will always have a piece of me and I am so grateful to her and her coaching and friendship and true honest sincerity of her kindness. God so knew what He was doing when He made Paula - I trust he is keeping her in his arms safe and loved right now! Thoughts and prayers for you all as you go through this grief. There are no words - there just aren't - it sucks it stinks and that is the truth. One day this opening gaping wound will heal I know with time and grace... yet I do know the skin will never ever be the same either... HUGE hugs - and and much more! My condolences on the loss of a vibrant and enthusiastic bundle of energy named Paula. I knew Paula through Open Door Toastmasters where she immediately welcomed me... and roped me into the group! Her boundless energy and drive inspired all of us to do and to be more. I was introducing her speech at one meeting and had asked her about her biggest fear. Her reply was classic: "I could ponder that for a while - I don't have one that comes to mind. There are things I don't like (like rollercoasters, fast driving on the parkway, and those teacups that spin you around until you lose your last three meals). I have a recurring nightmare where I get to the top of a really high hill and when I get there, I can see the road down because it is really, really steep (like the one on ice road truckers this past year)."
There were good times aplenty and much laughter. Paula, I shall not forget thee.

Words can not express the sadness that has enveloped me since I heard the news on Friday. Paula was a one of a kind friend. She was a unifier of groups and could plan a get together like no one else. Paula knew the right thing to say and do, always with a smile on her face.
As I think back on significant life events, I think fondly of Paula. Whether it was the handmade baby blankets that my babies received from Paula or the handmade prayer shawl I received from her when I was sick, we were always wrapped in her warmth.
My kids only met “Miss Paula” a couple of times when she was in our area and came to visit, but they remember her fondly. Wouldn’t you too if you were cuddled up on her lap?
I’ll miss you deeply, my friend. The world lost a beautiful soul but imagine the fun times that are now going on in heaven.
Wishing Willie and the rest of Paula's family the strength needed to get through this terrible loss.
Rest peacefully......

Paula was an awesome person and I will miss her greatly!
I will always remember working with her when I joined GSK. She was just starting with OTC Regulatory and I was just starting with the company. Paula was always so supportive and seeking to find a solution that worked for the team.
However, my greater joy was over the years as Paula and I became good friends. We would always catch up over coffee in the morning when time permitted and she was always telling me about the fun stuff that she was doing with Willie, toastmasters or with the kids.
Paula - you are and will always be a great person and friend. My God give strength to Willie as he starts a new phase knowing that he has an angel watching over him.
Love always,
Stacey Harris

Surrounding you-Willie & family with prayers doing this difficult time. I will always remember Paula and her speaking skills (a talent I admired and I didn't have) and love of Toastmaster as she shared her faith in many UMW programs. Thank you for the music you & Paula played in church--a real blessing to all of us to see your musical talent together! Paula fought a long battle with cancer, may she now rest in peace. May the wonderful memories of a faithful life be with you.

I will always remember Paula for her upbeat personality, her great sense of humor and her fun-loving spirit. The spiritual programs she presented at our UMW meetings will never be forgotten. I truly admire her faith and deep Christian belief in all that our Lord has promised. I will remember her bravery in the past months as she fought her battle with cancer, especially as she participated in the Lenten skit last year. My deepest sympathy to you Willie, and to your family in this tremendous loss. You had a wonderful marriage and I hope all of your good memories will sustain you.
