Obituary of Caroline L. Flatt

Please share a memory of Caroline to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Perhaps they are not Stars in the sky, but rather openings in Heaven,

where our loved ones shine down to let us know they are happy...

Caroline L. Flatt, passed away peacefully on Friday, Novemeber 3, 2017, with her loving family by her side.  A Memorial Service in her honor will be celebrated on Tuesday, November 7th at 11 am at St. John’s Episcopal Church in Boonton.  Donations in her name may be made to the good work of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital by way of www.inmemoryof-memorial.org

Caroline was born in Boonton to Warner and Emma Gray.  At a young age, her mother passed and she moved to Ledgewood to live with her Aunt.  It was there, years later that she met Charles Flatt Jr. After their schooling and a whirlwind romance, the couple married on St. Valentine’s Day, 1954 at St. John’s Church.  They settled in Boonton and raised a family of their own.  As the kids grew, Caroline began working in the schools preparing with love and serving hot meals to the children in town.  She loved this job as it afforded her time to see her own kids and all of the others as they grew.  She truly was a fixture in our great community.

Caroline was a devoted Wife, Loving Mom and adored Grandma.  The son rose and set on her seven grandchildren.  Most recently she was crowned the title of Great Grandma with five great grands.  She enjoyed trips to the casino and was a painter and enjoyed the peace of this activity.  She was always listening to music and loved a great shopping trip; forever adding to her impressive pocket book collection.   Above all, she loved spending time with her family.  They were her greatest source of joy and love and she was so proud of everyone. This family Matriarch will be missed beyond words.

She leaves beautiful memories to her husband Charles of 63 years; children Charles Flatt III, Sandy Baldini ( Russell) and Allison Brengel (Steven); her grandchildren Jessica Wilki (Chris), Sarah Connelly (John), Casondra and Cameron Rolph, Nicole Brengel, Matthew Brengel (Vicky) and Nicholas Brengel; her five little munchkins Mia, Christopher, Jacob, Cooper and John; and many more dear relatives, friends and neighbors.
