Obituary of John F. Harrison, Jr.
John F. Harrison Jr. passed away of complications of diabetes and heart failure in Denville, N.J. on Saturday, October 28th. He was a lifelong resident of Mt. Tabor.
John was born February 8, 1948 in Dover to John F. Harrison Sr. and Leonora Tonking Harrison. He attended Mt. Tabor School and Parsippany H.S. graduating in 1966. He attended college at UMass – Amherst and received a degree from William Paterson University.
Throughout his life he was employed by Mt. Tabor Post Office, Picatinny Arsenal and Pfzier Pharmaceuticals. He was an avid local historian and a passionate collector of books and old artifacts.
He will be missed by all that knew him. He is survived by a brother William Harrison and nephew Nicolas Hayes Harrison of Buena Park, California as well as many Aunts, Uncles, Cousins and friends.
Memorial visitation will be held on Saturday November 18, 2017, from 1-3PM with a service starting at 2:30PM at Norman Dean Home for Services 16 Righter Avenue Denville, NJ 07834 www.normandean.com. Memorial donations in his name can be made to Mt. Tabor Historical Society, P.O. Box 271, Mt. Tabor, NJ 07878.
