Please share a memory of Caitlyn to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Caitlyn Schmidt, 25

"You can always tell where a beautiful soul has been by the tears and the smiles left behind."

One Love, One Heart…

Our love, our heart, Caitlyn Marie Schmidt, joined the Angels in heaven on September 22, 2017.  She was just shy of 26 and has left us  broken hearted, but ever grateful for having had her bless our lives.  She was our daughter, sister, granddaughter, niece, friend, our ray of sunshine.  And she will be missed beyond words.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, September 30th at 10:00am at the Chapel of Our Lady of The Magnificat Parish, Miller Road, Kinnelon, NJ.  Friends and relatives may visit on Friday, September 29th from 4-8 pm at the Norman Dean Home For Services, 16 Righter Avenue, Denville.    Donations in Caitlyn's memory may be made to the good work of the 11th Hour Rescue or to the Big Dog Rescue Ranch in Florida by way of www.inmemoryof-memorial.org.

Caitlyn was born on November 6, 1991 to Donna and Gary Schmidt. She was brought home to meet her big sister Courtney and since the beginning the two were close as can be.  Caitlyn had a zest and spunk for life that was rare.  She was a happy girl, always laughing and clapping with excitement over things big or small.  She was beautiful inside and out, and that smile… oh that smile- she lit up the room.

She graduated from Lenape Valley Regional High School in 2010 and started at Montclair State where she studied Psychology. A few years later she moved to Florida where she found peace and serenity and sand in her toes. Her free spirit loved the sunshine, the salty air on her skin and the sound of reggae music playing.

Caitlyn worked full time at Access Labs in Jupiter, Florida where they were like a second family to her. She was attending Palm Beach State University taking night and summer classes to fulfill her dream of becoming a certified medical tech and was working so very hard to reach her goals.

When she wasn't at work or school she could be found with her sweet dog Savannah Skye or enjoying the open waters on a paddle board.  She loved the beach and all things outdoors. She loved her family. More than anything in this world she loved her family. She would speak to her folks many times every day. She never missed a day starting each day with "Good Morning " and ending each night with "Sleep well. I'll text you when I wake up. Love you so much!  Goodnight"

Just a few weeks ago they all took a wonderful trip to Universal Studios and Caitlyn flew home Labor Day weekend for her good friend's wedding.  Those memories will be cherished forever.

She leaves such beautiful memories to her parents, Gary and Donna ( nee Goodheart) Schmidt, her loving sister Courtney, Grandmother Anna Goodheart McGary, her Aunts and Uncles, Denise Cessna, Carol and Frank Carr, Bruce and Karen Goodheart, Bob and Renee Goodheart, Richard Schmidt, many cousins and second cousins and including her dear boyfriend, Austin Johnson and her beloved dog, Savannah and family dog Dakota. Her grandparents, George and Gladys Schmidt, Grandfather William Goodheart and Uncle Bill Goodheart passed previously.

"Caitlyn our time together will always be treasured.  Sleep well my sweet girl.   We love you so much!  Goodnight "
