Gerard, Jerry, Roddy, Hot Rod, Buck- Lifetime Denville Resident and World’s Funniest Guy

Gerard J. Humphreys passed away at home on Thursday, September 7^th with his family by his side.  He shared 56 years of love and laughter with all who knew him. He fought a hard fight and was brave always.  A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, September 12^th at 11:00 am at the Norman Dean Home For Services, 16 Righter Avenue, Denville.  Interment to follow at Rockaway Valley Cemetery.  Friends and relatives may visit on Monday, September 11^th from 2-4 & 7-9 pm.  Donations in his name may be made to the good work of St. Jude Children Research Hospital by way of www.inmemoryof-memorial.org

Jerry was born in Denville in 1961. After his schooling, he attended the Plaza School of Design where he became a Mechanical Designer.  He married his longtime sweetheart Karen Riley and the couple started a family of their own.  He has since been the President of Edge Design Corp.  Roddy was a workaholic and passionate about it. When he wasn’t working, he could be found with his family and numerous friends having a laugh and enjoying life.  He was always doing something.  He was loud and a goofball, and people were drawn to him.  Although Hot Rod has left this world all too soon, we take comfort in knowing he is at peace and has left us memories to make us laugh a lifetime. 

Predeceased by his parents James and Eileen Humphreys, he leaves happy memories to his loving wife Karen; adored sons and biggest fans Sean (Kerri Pruden) and Andrew (Ricci DiGirolamo); dear brother James (Martha Lynes); step mother and siblings Elizabeth Humphreys, Kelly O’Neill and Jimmy Sarro (Karen); mother in law Ann Riley; and many more dear Aunts, Uncles, cousins, friends and acquaintances.
