Alva Romine was a wonderful woman that I loved having as a supervisor! She was always loving and kind to patients and staff! She is with the Lord now and enjoying being with Jesus! We need more people like her in the field of nursing!

Auntie Alva Romine was a most beloved missionary together with her husband Uncle Ralph at Grace Christian High School of Metro Manila, Philippines. She lived an exemplary life as a self-sacrificing servant of our Lord Jesus Christ. Her impact on countless students at our school and church is only known to God. We grieve with her own family but are consoled by the assurance from scriptures that she is now in the joyful presence of our Lord Jesus and embraced by our heaven Father. We will never forget her joyful kindness and love whenever we took our own children ,Debbie and Danny to visit their home even after their retirement in America.May all of us follow in their footsteps as true servants of the Lord Jesus Christ to a world so engulfed by sin and self-destruction!

My deepest sympathy for the loss of your love one. May the promise that our Heavenly Father made help you to cope during this difficult time.

We are so sorry to hear of Alva's passing but we don't grieve as those who have no hope. Jesus has welcomed her as well as Ralph and there is nothing but joy. We count it a privilege to have know them both and have wonderful memories of the Friday nite missionary prayer meetings including the ones in their home. I remember Alva serving vanilla ice cream in cantaloupe halves and I didn't know missionaries could be so extravagant! It was a special treat which we had never had before and ice cream was new in the Philippines! Not to forget the continuous flow of puns from Ralph!
Another special time more recently was the last Grace Reunion that they were able to attend. We were already in the Seattle area at Sharon's parents and we met Ralph and Alva at the airport. We had a great time on the ride to Vancouver, BC, reminiscing. Precious times with precious people. Praise God for what we have to look forward to in Heaven!
Because of Christ,
Dale and Sharon Gregory

I echo the sentiments about Alva. I attended the Grace Christian High School in the Philippines in 1953-1957 where my parents Bob and Ella were fellow missionaries with Alva and Ralph. I have fond memories of Alva's compassion and joyful spirit. And that was 60 years ago! God bless her progeny that are inspired by her.

I am truly saddened to learn of Mom's passing. She has and will always have a special place in my heart and in my memory forever. From the time that I first met her, She made me feel the love and acceptance with warmth and kindness that came straight from her heart. I fondly remember the time that she sat with me outside Susan's house for several hours when Dad had passed away. She opened her heart to me and we had an opportunity to really get to know each other. This was a treasured moment for me. I will miss her. Thanks Mom.

I would like to extend my heartfelt sympathy to the family. Alva was so special to me. We worked together at Van Dyk Bald Eagle in West Milford. During that time, we became friends as well as co-workers. She never aged - taught me that "age is just a number". She was a born nurse and nothing could take the nurse out of her. Alva was such a wonderful Christian woman, always encouraging others and always upbeat. She was always an inspiration to others. It was an honor to know Alva. I will miss her, but know that she is safe in the arms of our Lord. May God grant you all peace and comfort during this difficult time.

It is with great sadness that we learned of Mom's death. But also with a sense of joy for having been fortunate to have been with such warm, loving and kind person. We will miss her greatly and she will live on in our hearts and in the many fond and bright memories that we gathered in her presence. She told me once that I was responsible for every gray hair on her head. I checked though and found out that there were a few that were either mislabeled or placed there in error. A few Jerrys, a couple of Sues, more than one Don, and lo and behold there were even a few Stevens....go figure! She loved us all greatly and we loved her back. Always remember to love your Momma because you only get one.
