Francis Bernard Bombacie March 7, 1923 – August 1, 2017 Frank Bombacie, a resident for the past 7 years of St. Francis Senior Residences in Denville, NJ passed away August 1, 2017 at Compassionate Care Hospice. Frank was born in New York City on March 7, 1923 son of Fred and Mary English Bombacie. He lived in Greenwich Village in NYC for 77 years before moving to Denville in 2010. Frank retired from the United States Postal Service in 1983 after earning multiple service awards and commendations. Frank was a Veteran and proudly served in the United States Army in the European Theater during WWII. He was a Bronze Battle Star Recipient and a Recipient of an American Theater Ribbon and European Africa Middle Eastern Theater Ribbon. Preceding Frank is his death were his parents, Fred and Mary Bombacie, a sister Mary Frances Marsico, a brother Joseph Bombacie, a sister Helen Warden, a brother Ferdinand Bombacie, a half brother William Bombacie and a half brother Anthony Bombacie. Frank will be greatly missed by his niece and caregiver Mary Ann Warden as well as many nieces, nephews and friends. We would also like to say a very special thank you to you Uncle Frank for taking an Ancestry DNA test so that we are able to complete our Family Tree. We know how much you appreciated learning about our family history! Frank was the Ultimate John Wayne Fan. He was a very kind man with a big heart for people and animals. Please remember him in your prayers. At Frank's request, there will be no funeral service and he will be buried with family in Calvary Cemetery in Queens, New York.
