Obituary of Hilary M. Rivello

Hilary M. Rivello, of Green Pond, formerly of Davenport, FL, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Monday, July 24, 2017 at Compassionate Care Hospice in Dover. She was 78 years young.

 

Born and raised in Kent, England, she began working at HSBC Bank of London. For her 21st birthday, she went on a holiday to Majorca, Spain and met her soulmate, the late Gerard Anthony Rivello, Jr. as he was proudly serving our country in the U.S. Navy. Hilary moved to NJ to be with him, they were married in Dec. 1960 and began their beautiful family. In 1986, they retired to Florida where she made a career working for Disney. Hilary was on the opening team for Test Track attraction in Disney World, FL and she continued working for them as a Trainer for employees. Hilary also sung with Candlelight Choir at Disney and with her local community. Above anything else in the world, Hilary took great pride in being a mother and grandmother to her children and grandchildren. They were her number one priority in this life and they will never forget that. She has left us with a legacy of compassion, empathy, and unconditional love that will continue through the generations.

 

Predeceased by her beloved husband, Gerard and her brother David Goldsmith, left to continue her legacy are her adored children, Wendy (Bryce) Huston, Nicola (Tom) Wilt, Gerard E. (Tina) Rivello, Andrew (Nancy) Rivello, and Matthew (Lorena) Rivello; her cherished grandchildren, Derek, Jared, Logan, Hilary, David, Gerard E., Jr., Michael, Anthony, Ashley, Noelle, Zachary, Jade, Summer, Nina, and Nolan; her treasured great-grandson, Jake; her caring brother, John Goldsmith, and sisters-in-law, Marianne Thomas and Joanne (Raymond) Suesser; her loving niece, Natalie Matonis, and many nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends in England.

 

Public Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 27th from 4 – 8 pm at Norman Dean Home for Services, 16 Righter Ave., Denville, NJ 07834. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, July 28th at 11:00 am at St. Simon the Apostle Church, 1010 Green Pond Rd., Newfoundland, NJ 07435. Burial will follow on Monday, July 31st at 2 pm at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, FL. Memorial Donations will be accepted in her memory to the Green Pond First Aid Squad by way of www.inmemoryof-memorial.org. Please leave a condolence and special memory for her family.
