Bill was born in Jersey City to the late James and Genevieve Murray.  After his schooling he began working with the Painters Union, a job he held for many years. He met Nancy Ialongo and soon after the couple married and started a family, making their home in Jersey City.   Bill went on to work for the Jersey City BOE, retiring after 25 years of service.  He enjoyed being in the schools and watching the kids in town grow up.  In his free time, he enjoyed hunting and fishing.  He was always taking his boys to the outdoors throughout the state and going on family camping trips.   Bill was a true outdoorsman and loved nature.  He was lucky enough to spend his last years in the country with his wife and their pups Dudley and Missy.  At home, he was surrounded by the silliness of his parrot Fluff and his pigeons, yes, his pet pigeons. Bill will be missed dearly, but we are grateful for his love and the appreciation of nature that he shared with us for so many years.

He leaves happy memories to his wife Nickie of 56 years, sons William and Edward and daughter in law Rosemary; adored grandchildren William III, Samantha, Edward and Aiden; and many more dear relatives and friends, especially Richie Freed and Adam, Lisa and Cody Pinter.
