Obituary of Florence Vanderhoof

Florence L. Vanderhoof (Coates), passed away at her home in Denville on March 13, 2017, at the age of 95. Born in Norwich, CT, she had lived in the Indian Lake section of Denville, NJ for the last 75 years. Florence worked as an accountant for John W. Wehman Company in Morristown, NJ before retiring in 1977. She was an avid gardener and had the gift of the green thumb that could grow fruits, plants and vegetables that she would share with friends, family, and neighbors. She also loved to sew, and most of all she loved to take care of other people. Florence was predeceased by her beloved husband of 65 years, Farnham E. Vanderhoof, and her loving sister Dorothy Irene Coates, both in 2009, and also by her son Farnham William Vanderhoof in the 1940's. She is survived by her children Frederick E. & Janice Vanderhoof, and Edwin J. & Deborah Vanderhoof of Denville, NJ. She is also survived by her grandchildren Jennifer Krogstad (Erik), Timothy Vanderhoof, Wendy Young (Alexander), Stephanie Sadineni (Jay) and Edwin James Vanderhoof. Florence is also survived by great grandchildren Jonathan, Jessica, Kiersten, Evelyn, Charles and Joshua and several very dear nieces and nephews A memorial service will take place at a later date at the Denville United Methodist Church on Diamond Spring Road in Denville, NJ.
