I knew Chandler briefly in 8th grade, Glasgow Jr High, Falls Church Va. He had asthma and the kids made fun of him. His mother worried about him, but I told her not to worry, in a few years his classmates would "catch up", and recognize him for whom he was. My dad was a diplomat, and we moved to Venezuela shortly thereafter. When we returned, 3 yrs later, I visited Chandler. While I was in his home I remember his phone kept ringing; boys and girls calling for advice, friends. He had just begun to blossom. Reading his obituary and comments, I think Chandler reached his potential (although he wouldn't agree, haha) of achievement and appreciation. I remember his loud laugh, he was a funny guy. I remember the kids laughing at him because he said if a person had to climb in and out of window over and over, he would eventually grow wings ! The kids didn't understand what he was trying to convey, but I did. Chandler was a Hell of a guy. He feigned exasperation over lesser mentalities ( like mine) but was always ready with patient explanations and support. I knew his heart, and even now smile as I write. He could discuss books with me. We played Battleship, and Phalanx ( of course he won. Then he would explain why, haha ). My sincerest condolences to those who loved him. If we're lucky we'll meet again.
Ps...I have to add, I recognized Chandler immediately in his classroom photo, Japan, 1963. Sitting so upright, big smile !

Condolences to the much-loved family of Chandler. He had the biggest heart of anyone I knew, despite his determination not to "suffer fools gladly," as he admitted to me in high school, when I scolded him for his insults directed at lesser mortals. Sadly, he took care of others better than himself, perhaps never fully realizing how much his family and friends depended on his wise counsel, sense of duty, and kindness.

Hello dear family of Chandler,
I am a colleague of Chandler from our Whippany days at AT&T, and just noticed this notice.
Chandlers capacity for his work, friends, family, learning new things, researching, assimilating, and sharing knowledge was unsurpassed. His passion for his work, remembering everyones names and needs, ready conversation and smile, huge heart and smile. What a great soul. I will always think of him with a great smile and admiration for who he chose to be in this crazy and often confusing world of ours. A bright light that shone independently with great compassion, contribution, and Love. Thank you Chandler! And thank you family for making his life here safe, giving, caring, and one of great Joy!

As a member of The Denville Writer's Group, to which Chandler belonged, I only knew him a short time. He was informed and informative, had a quiet wit and a loud laugh, and easily shared them with our group. After reading the first chapter of his book, Irrepressible Conflict, I was so impressed that I went home and immediately bought it for my Kindle. It is an informative, well written mystery with lots of historical data; and overall good read. I will miss his wit and wisdom.

To the Family of Chandler Tedholm
Please accept my sincere condolences. I have taken comfort knowing that God . . . will wipe all tears from their eyes, and there will be no more death, suffering, crying, or pain.”—Revelation 21:3, 4 The Bible, however, holds out a much different hope. God, who started mankind off in a lovely garden, has promised to restore Paradise on this earth under the rule of His heavenly Kingdom in the hands of the now glorified Jesus Christ. ( Matthew 6:10; “ Let your kingdom come. Let your will take place, as in heaven, also upon earth” ) In that restored Paradise, the human family will have the prospect of enjoying life without end, free from all sickness and disease
Sincerely,
Roberta

I'm very sorry for your loss. I had the opportunity to work with Chandler in Whippany for a few years and, coincidentally, again in the insurance world. He was gentlemen and a pleasure to work with and I'm sure that he'll be missed by all.

Sending positive thoughts and healing white light to Chandler's family, Carolyn, Miranda, Teddy, and other family members and friends. Chandler was a nice man and I always enjoyed his company at family gatherings. My most recent contact with him was a telephone conversation when I was calling asking for assistance with a computer problem. Chandler was extremely pleasant and helpful and it was a pleasure talking with him. Wishing Chandler's family peace, serenity, hope compassion, strength and the joyful memories you shared with Chandler. He will be greatly missed. -Debbie & Taylor

While I only knew Chandler through Miranda's stories, I know he was loved and admired by his daughter, and it is clear from the way he talked about her that he loved and admired his daughter immensely. The outpouring of grief from friends shows that Chandler was loved and respected by many. My condolences to the family!
