Obituary of John M. Vallance
Please share a memory of John to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
John Vallance passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 12, 2017 surrounded by his loving family. He shared 77 years of love and kindness with all who knew him. Memorial Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 14th from 3-7 pm at the Norman Dean Home For Services, 16 Righter Ave., Denville. Donations in his name by way of www.inmemoryof-memorial.org may be made to the good work of the HSUS or the ASPCA.
John was born in Ayr, Scotland to the late James and Jane Vallance. He emigrated to the United States with his parents in 1959. After college and proudly serving in the US Air Force, he traveled back to Scotland where he married Pam Vallance. The couple journeyed back to the US and settled in Hopatcong, NJ where they started a family of their own. He worked for Prudential Insurance, retiring after 31 years. John worked hard to provide a good life for his family. He was a dear husband and loving father and over the moon for his four grandchildren. He enjoyed reading, adored animals and genuinely cared about people. He has left his family with nothing but beautiful memories to cherish forever.
Surviving is his wife Pam of 50 years; daughter Susan McDermott, sons Ian and Gavin Vallance (Scott Hinman); adored grandchildren Andrew, Evan, Shannon and Timothy McDermott; the family felines Tuppence, Sadie, Molly and Hillary; and many more dear friends and acquaintances.
