Dearest Sara, Michael & Bridget,
It is with such sadness we write this. We have known and loved all of you for 27 years. We all laugh and remember the day when and how we met.....when Jimmy rescued 2 year old, Caitlin after climbing a 2 story ladder almost to the roof of our house! (Weren't you glad you moved next door to us)???? From that day on a friendship was formed and the bond grew. We have shared so much laughter, some tears, some separation through time, but the love and friendship always continued. We have years of great memories that will comfort us as we look back. Our most recent, being our trip to visit both of you this past May in So Carolina. We all had a wonderful visit together and didn't want it to end. At least Jimmy and Tom won the last card game we played..... well, they usually won, if you and I were to be honest. But, it was fun teasing them saying we let them win!!!
Christine, Kathleen, Andrew, Margaret and Caitlin send their love and wish they could be with all of you today to share their sorrow with you. They were his " buddies."
Tom and I will desperately miss our dear friend.
God Bless all of you in your sadness and suffering. You will be in our prayers
We love you!!

My dearest brother Jimmy,
I have been blessed to have you as my brother for 63 years. You have been as constant in my life as the earth, the moon and all the stars. You have served as a role model for all who were fortunate to know in life.
You always were my 'Superman'. I can remember you running to save me from the mother blue jay who attacked me on the way to kindergarten, coming to me rescue the night the ball joint broke on my car, endless trips to the hospital for all of us, and being at my side throughout mommy's hospice days. You were always there for me and we always knew, throughout life's many challenges, we had each other's backs.
We shared so many great memories, laughs and perhaps a few scares, like teaching me to drive in Sara's brand new limited edition Mustang, or getting stuck in your old VW Beetle in the driveway of the mansion in South Orange that was hosting a wedding, or going for a ride to Vermont on a Sunday and entertaining that memorable Sara question: "Do ducks sleep in trees?"
You are the Godfather to both my sons. Drew and Matt grew up listening to our mother and me telling them how much they were like you and Eddie - and instructing them to grow up just like you and Eddie, as no 2 brothers were ever closer in life.
I loved spending time with you and looked forward to every visit from South Carolina. I knew we would be creating new memories every time we were together. I loved our remote TV watching and texting on AGT and DWTS - even though Eddie thought we were crazy, we enjoyed that time sharing our thoughts and comments through the wonders of our iPhones.
You taught me so much in life, but this is one lesson I didn't want to know - how to let you go. I never thought the day would come when you wouldn't be here to share your gentle, kind endearing ways. I'll cherish your memory proudly my dearest brother and true friend. Not even death will separate us, our love for each other will have no end. I'll hold you in my heart, thoughts and prayers until we are together again.
As we ended every phone call and every good-bye, I'll tell you again - I love you more than tongue can tell. To which you would reply: "I know, I feel in my heart". I am ever so thankful for every minute we shared on this earth. Until we meet again, May God Hold You in The Palm of His Hand. Always and forever, your loving sister, Annie

I am so deeply sorry to hear that Jim Brannigan has passed away. I work for Jim Brannigan in the 1990s at Verizon. I found him to be one of the best bosses I ever worked for at Verizon. Although he was a line foreman and I was a splicer his knowledge of the job was outstanding. In the early 90s I was trying to prove myself that I could do the fiber optic splicing in my local area . Even though the job was generally done by another group, Jim had faith in me, he made sure that I got some of the fiber jobs in my area. If I needed tool Jim got it. If I needed the truck to do the work Jim got it for me. The man had such great faith in me I will never forget. Rest in peace Jim.

Jimmy was a lovely man who, with my sister, Sara, welcomed me warmly to their South Carolina home last May. It was great to see how happy they were in their new home with the pond, the duckies, the turtles, and- best of all, for Jimmy- the golf course!
He was the best chauffeur and tour guide ever, as he patiently showed this Montana sister-in-law all the sights from Murrells Inlet to Charleston. I was looking forward to Jimmy and Sara coming to Missoula and Whitefish so Milt and I could return the favor.
It's consoling to know that Sara has such a wonderful family to comfort her during this difficult time.

So, so, sorry to hear about Jimmy. I went all through Junior High and High School with Jimmy. Truly one of the greatest guys you
could ever have as a friend. Jimmy (and his brother Eddie) were
friends You could count on and rely on. Jimmy was a real "Stand Up" guy that would always help a friend.
He was Irish all the way. He was funny with a sense of humor and always a laugh. I remember Palm St. The Ivy playground then the Vailsburg Playground. Austins, (later Eddies)A lot of good times and lots of laughs.
Jimmy, You will be missed. It was a pleasure to know You.
Rest easy my friend

As one of Jim's lineman I knew and respected him well.In 42 years with the company, and many supervisors one has in 4 decades,Jim was the best. Why, one may ask, simply because he knew the job,as he himself had performed it and knew exactly what we might have been up against-there was no guessing and hope that things turned out alright.
Now from a personal point of view,Jim was a most kind, generous man that was admired and respected by all,be it craft or union. He was a true leader as well.Because of this we bent over backwards for him, next to walking on water!! If I could have I would have!!! As
I sit here writing this I find myself smiling, thinking of the many humorous situations from practical jokes played, one of which reversed itself on myself.I had attached a large Italian
plastic crown to Rick Meeker's truck safely up high which could really be seen back away from the vehicle.Well the next morning Jim appeared upset and called everyone in to address
the situation of the crown!Unknown to me they had seen me attach it late in the afternoon before leaving for home.Well Jim paced back and forth in front of us claiming that it had come off on I-280 shattering someone's windshield! He said there was an investigation going on to determine who had done it and if they could determine who did it there would be hell to pay. After everyone left to leave for the day,I waited and went to Jim to "stop any investigation,I was the one responsible".Well Jim bent over laughing throwing the crown in the trash saying,"I know you did I saw you install it,I just wanted to see if you were man enough to admit it,and you never disappointed me"NOW GO TO WORK! His most famous 4 words!
One day Jim said, that he had received a complaint from someone/somewhere that I had the end of an antenna string tied to the span clamp in front of my house and to remove it.I said,"Jim,do you know how many lives that antenna saved or helped in Florida during Hurricane Hugo? Jim immediately said,"Forget it,leave it alone,if anyone says anything about it you tell them to contact me".Goodness, this has turned into an epistle, please forgive me.But there were a few things I felt I just had to say.Jim was more than a supervisor,co-worker,etc.HE WAS A FRIEND! Respectfully,Mitch
