Obituary of Marjorie W. Murray

Marjorie W. Murray, 86, passed away peacefully on November 9, 2016 with her family by her side. Marjorie was born in New York City to the late David and Anna Wood. She grew up in Great Neck Long Island and later graduated from Bennington College.
Marjorie is predeceased by her former husband, James M. Robertson and her late husband of fifty years, Charles W. Murray. Marjorie was a devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother and leaves very happy memories to her children: James Robertson, married to Sue Roberston, Jeanne Vlerebome, married to Rich Vlerebome, Janet Armentrout married to Ted Armentrout and Jane Zielinski married to Thomas Zielinski; her stepchildren Ellen Murray, Timmy Murray, and Michael Murray; her grandchildren: Andrew Girdler, Jessica Newell, Katherine Spina, David Zielinski, Jillian Robertson, Daniel Zielinski, Diane LaCosta, and Charlie Murray; three great-grandchildren; and many more loving relatives, friends and caretakers.
Marjorie was a lover of life and embraced it to its fullest. Her generosity and caring for others was among one of her strongest attributes. She was an avid golfer, enjoyed playing bridge, teaching chemistry, traveling the world, had a passion for participating in charitable organizations; was President of the Association for the Health of Retarded Children for many years. She especially loved spending time with her family and friends in Montauk, NY and Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, December 10 at 10 am at Our Lady Star of The Sea Parish, Ponte Vedra Beach, FL 32082. Entombment of ashes will follow in the church columbarium. Donations in her memory may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, www.alz.org.
