Obituary of Ann McGowan

Ann McGowan, Best Grandma Ever Ann Batley McGowan passed away peacefully after a graceful and hard fight over these past few months. She was 65 years young and has left us too soon. A Funeral Service will be held at the Norman Dean Home For Services, 16 Righter Ave, Denville on Saturday, August 27th at 11 am. Friends and relatives may visit on Friday, August 26th from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Donations in her name may be made to the good work of the ASPCA by way of www.inmemoryof-memorial.org. Ann loved animals! Born in Dover, Ann is a lifelong resident of Denville. She loved this town and our community. After graduating Gettysburg College she met Bob McGowan at their first job. They married and started a family of their own. Her children were her world and then her universe turned into her adored grandchildren. Ann loved those kids and would grab any opportunity to babysit, read to them, or just walk around finding adventures. She also enjoyed crosswords and traveling. Above all, her family was tops. She will be missed more than words can say but her legacy of love and family will continue to grow through her children and "all" of her grandchildren. Predeceased by her parents Harry and Doretha Batley; she leaves wonderful memories to her loving husband Bob of 41 years and children Sean (Helen) and Alexis Fisher (Ryan). She was the doting Grandma to Melina and Michael McGowan and Travis Fisher and of course, Daisy the canine and many loving relatives and dear friends.
