Obituary of Pete Fisher

Please share a memory of Pete to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Peter S. Fisher, age 59, passed away peacefully at home with family by his side on Saturday, August 20, 2016. A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, August 25, 2016 at 11 am at the Norman Dean Home For Services, 16 Righter Ave, Denville. Interment will follow at Rockaway Valley Cemetery, Boonton. Friends, fans and relatives may visit on Wednesday, August 24th from 2-4 & 7-9 pm. Born on December 5, 1956, the third son of Russ and Joan Fisher, Peter was raised in Denville and Boonton Twp with his brothers and two younger sisters. Growing up, he enjoyed many hours working on cars and riding motorcycles and ATC's with his friends. He was never at a loss for a new toy or gadget. Eventually, Peter joined the family business Fisher Auto in Fairfield, NJ. He went on to run the business and add AS-IS Motors, a very successful used car venture. He thoroughly enjoyed dealing with people as he bought and sold vehicles of all kinds. On Tuesdays, you could always find him at the Skyline Auto Auction conveniently located right across the street from the shop! At a local sandwich shop, he met his future wife, Darlene. They were married on a hillside overlooking a beautiful farm, with the High Point Monument in the background at their home in Wantage, NJ. After many years of a long commute, the couple decided to re-locate to Rockaway Twp and Peter was thrilled to be able to purchase land that meant a lot to him growing up, as it had once been part of the home where his best friend had lived. They built a beautiful home and lived there happily for many years. Peter loved life. He especially loved cruising through the days in as many vehicles as he could get his hands on. As long as it had wheels, it was something to enjoy. His collection ranged from vintage pedal cars, a sweet little Datsun Fair Lady, all the way up to his most recent purchase of a Freightliner pick-up truck! Who else but Pete!?! If there was an odd vehicle in town, you could make a safe bet that Peter was behind the wheel! Peter was devoted to Fisher Auto and his used car business. He worked hard each day to ensure that the dedicated mechanics he considered friends as well as employees, turned out the best work and upheld the reputation that his father had built over the years. Fisher Auto was his second home and the customers knew that he and the guys cared about their car as much as they did. But most of all, Peter loved his family and friends. There wasn't anything he wouldn't do for any of them. He loved spending time with them and sharing his latest "toy". Yet, even more then his love for the rest of his family, he loved his wife, Darlene the most. A more devoted husband would be hard to find and it was obvious whenever you saw them together. Pre-deceased by his parents and his brother, Mark Fisher, he leaves his adoring wife of 30 years, Darlene Fisher, his brother Larry Fisher and wife, Kathy; sisters Holly Weber and husband, John; and Natalie Gooding and husband Keith; his nephews, Kyle Fisher; Erik Gooding and Zak Fisher; and Scott and Ryan Fisher and beloved nieces Sammantha Fisher and Emily and Sydney Weber; as well as his incredible and faithful friends, Don and Roxanne Biondo with wonderful memories, big shoes to fill and lots of empty driver's seats
