Obituary of Frank A. Smith

Frank A. Smith passed away surrounded by his family at his home in Rockaway, NJ on June 7, 2016, at the age of 78. Born in Morristown, Frank was a lifelong resident of Rockaway, first living in the borough and then moving to the Hibernia section of Rockaway Twp. HHe was a 1955 graduate of Morris Hills Regional High School and then he attended Berkley College. Frank worked for years as a machinist at Stapling Machines in Rockaway, then worked for 8 years and retired from Axle Exchange in Fairfield, NJ. He was an avid NY Mets fan and loved woodworking and making crafts by hand. He was also a Scout Master for Troop 165 in Rockaway and a Fireman for 9 years with the Hibernia Fire Department. He was predeceased by his siblings Margaret Mayenzet, Irene Shay, Edward Smith and Marie Maher. Frank is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Lois C. (Zeek) Smith of Hibernia, and his son Brian (&Debbie) Smith of Rockaway. He is also survived by his grandchildren Shawn (& Teresa) Smith of Hopatcong, and Courtney Smith of Rockaway, and his great grandchildren Baylee, Ryan and Ryder Smith, as well as his Persian cat Cody and German Sheppard Barron. Funeral services will be held on Monday June 13, 2016 at 10AM at Norman Dean Home for Services 16 Righter Ave Denville, NJ 07834. Interment will follow at Marcella Cemetery.
