Obituary of Laurence B Orchard

Laurence B. Orchard "Larry", passed away on May 10, 2016, while visiting family in Marseilles, France. Born in Manhattan, NY he had lived in Brooklyn for many years before moving to Rockaway Township, NJ in 1997. Larry worked in finance as a network engineer for Citi Group in Warren, NJ. Larry was a loving and involved Dad. He enjoyed visiting his daughter in North Carolina and was so excited to learn he was going to have a grandson in July. He was an avid sports fan and loved going to games with his son or close friends. He loved the Jets and was a NY Mets season ticket holder. He taught karate for 19 years and was a black belt for over 10 years. Larry had type 1 diabetes and would often donate to diabetes research. He participated in fundraising walks and was active in his community. He was a reliable and fun guy that will be missed by many. He is survived by his beloved wife of 29 years, Rosemary (nee Harris) of Rockaway, NJ and his loving children Sabrina Orchard of Goldsboro, NC and Keith Orchard of Rockaway, NJ. He is also survived by his siblings William Orchard, Michael Orchard (& Melissa Marschall), Anne Marie (& Larry) Rempala and Christiane Vasan. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and dear friends. Funeral services will begin at 9AM on Tuesday May 17, 2016 at Norman Dean Home for Services 16 Righter Ave Denville, NJ 07834 and then going to St. Cecilia's Church in Rockaway for a 10AM Liturgy of Christian Mass. Friends may visit at the funeral home on Monday from 4-8PM.
