Obituary of Richard C. Tonzola
Please share a memory of Richard to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
“It will be the past and we’ll live there together.”
Richard C. Tonzola passed away at home on Wednesday, April 20th. He was 39 years young. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, April 25th at 10:00 am at St. Cecelia’s Church, 70 Church St. Rockaway. Friends, fans and relatives may visit on Sunday, April 24th from 2-6 pm at the Norman Dean Home For Services, 16 Righter Ave, Denville. In lieu of flowers, donations by way of www.inmemoryof-memorial.org may be made to the American Foundation For Suicide Prevention.
The oldest of four boys, Rich attended Denville schools graduating from Morris Knolls in 1995. He enjoyed wrestling and coaching it. He was a talented musician, writer, and all around good soul. Rich was genuinely interested in everyone he met in this world. After HS, he went on to study at Boston College, earning his BA in English. He taught at Morris Catholic and Vo Tech and really enjoyed the relationships he made along the way. Rich was a Star Wars and Harry Potter enthusiast. He was a kind, loving and gentle man. His enthusiasm for art and life will be missed. Our hearts are broken and we will remember his joys forever.
He leaves beautiful memories to his loving parents Richard and Roseann (nee DiDomenico); brothers Michael (Kawan), Gregory (Lindsey) and Matthew; maternal Grandmother Veronica DiDomenico; nieces Molly, Annie and Lucy; nephew Samuel; Aunts Isabel King, Geraldine Tonzola and Mildred Winkle, Uncle Anthony Tonzola; and many more loving relatives, supporters and dear friends.
