Obituary of Fridhjov J. Berntsen

Fridhjov (Fred) J. Berntsen of Marcella, NJ, 88, passed on Tuesday, Feb. 23, 2016. Born in Brooklyn NY, Mar 25, 1927, moved back to Norway at a young age and returned to the USA in 1946. Served in the US Army, rising to the rank of Staff Sergeant. Worked as an Engineer on the Tugboats in NYC Harbor till his retirement in 1993. Fred leaves behind his wife of 60 years, Jenny, 3 sons, Glenn, Lloyd and Scott, 7 Grand Children and 2 Great Grand Children. He was an active member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Lake Telemark, NJ, Nor-Bu Lodge #427 Sons of Norway, Lake Telemark, NJ and Masoniac Lodge Acacia #20, Dover, NJ. Viewing will be at Norman Dean Funeral Home, Denville, NJ Thursday, February 25, 2016 4pm to 8pm. Funeral memorial services will be held at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Lake Telemark, NJ at 10am, Friday, February 26, 2016, followed by burial at Marcella Chapel. The family asks all to meet and rejoice in Fred’s life at the Nor-Bu Lodge in Lake Telemark, NJ.
