Obituary of Anna Loretta Matthews
Please share a memory of Anna to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Anna Loretta Matthews, 82, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 18, 2015 with her loving family by her side.
Born and raised in Paterson, NJ, Anna graduated from St. Mary's Schools starting from Kindergarten through High School. She was a member of St. Catherine of Sienna RC Church in Mountain Lakes. She has had many jobs, but the one that was most important to her was being a phenomenal wife and mother. She loved raising her family in the Rainbow Lakes section of Denville and often referred to Rainbow Lakes as the town that she lived in. She was a loving, caring, considerate wife, mother, and grandmother and will forever be treasured in our memories.
Predeceased by her parents Frank and Ann, left to keep her legacy alive is her beloved husband of 58 years, James "Bud" Matthews; her loving children, Elizabeth (Daniel) Schwager of Lake Hopatcong, James (Susanna) Matthews of Stamford, CT, and Thomas (Carol) Matthews of Lake Hiawatha; and her cherished grandchildren, Randy (Kimberly) Schwager, Mark Matthews, and Steven Matthews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 23rd at 10 am at St. Catherine of Siena RC Church, 10 Pocono Rd., Mountain Lakes, NJ. Burial will follow at Denville Cemetery, Denville. A public Visitation will be held on Tuesday, Dec. 22nd from 4 – 7 pm at Norman Dean Home for Services, 16 Righter Ave., Denville, NJ. Because of a flower allergy, the family asks that you kindly make a donation in Anna's memory to the Rainbow Lakes Community Club, P.O. Box 277, Denville, NJ 07834. Please leave a condolence for her family.
