Joan Taylor, longtime Denville resident
Joan Taylor (nee Hammond), passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 3rd at Sunrise Senior Living, Sheepshead Bay, Brooklyn. She was 85 years young. A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, Nov. 14th at 5 pm at at Norman Dean Home For Services, 16 Righter Ave, Denville. Friends and relatives may visit with the family from 3-5 that afternoon. Born in Manchester England, Joan immigrated to the US with her husband Walter and two young boys in 1965. They eventually settled in the Indian Lake section of Denville where they raised their family and enjoyed the community here. She and Walter truly loved Denville. Joan was a longtime member of the Union Hill Presbyterian Church and a kind and generous woman. An avid knitter, she made beautiful gifts and afghans for her family through the years. She possessed a beautiful spirit which has not left us. Her smile and laughter will always remain a source of joy for our family.
Predeceased by her husband Walter (2013); she leaves happy memories to her sons Steven (Judy Hussie-Taylor) and Paul (Janet Acker); grandchildren Matthew (Christine), Brooke (Brian) Loriann (Richard), Eamonn, Ruby and Gillian; great grandsons Jack, Walter and Braden; brothers Henry and Norman and many more loving relatives and friends.
