Obituary of Joseph J. Petruzziello

Joseph “Pino” Petruzziello, passed away at home, on September 2nd, surrounded by his loving family. He was 63 years young. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, September 9th at 10 am at St. Mary’s RC Church, Myers Ave., Denville. Interment to follow at Restland Memorial Park, East Hanover. Friends and relatives may visit on Monday, September 7th from 2-4 & 7-9 pm at the Norman Dean Home For Services, 16 Righter Avenue, Denville. Donations in his memory are being accepted to the good work of the National Kidney Foundation, 30 E 33rd St #3, New York, NY 10016. Born in Avellino, Italy, Pino moved to the US as a young man. He graduated from NJIT with his BS in computer science. He married Phyllis (nee Scalera) and the couple settled in Rockaway where they raised their son. Pino was an excellent soccer player and a talented musician and artist. He actually met his wife Phyllis when she hired his band Idivini for a party. He enjoyed playing cards with his friends and kayaking with his wife. Above all; he loved being with his son Adam. He was his greatest joy in this world. Pino was kind and generous and possessed an enthusiastic spirit which has not left us. He will be missed immeasurably, but will never be forgotten. Predeceased by is parents Gaetano and Angela; he leaves happy memories to his wife Phyllis and son Adam and siblings Eva and Sergio. Also surviving is his family Don Scalera, Richard Scalera (Darryl), Mark Scalera (Evie), Barbara Psenisky (Jeff), Alfonzo Petruzziello, Enza Peluso; in laws Frank and Louise Scalera; nieces and nephews Fabio (Katie), Claudio (Carolyn), Angela, Sondro (Ashley), Fausto, Marco, Carly (Ken), Lindsey and Ryan (Ashley); great nieces and nephews Luca, Nico, Simona, Aria, Arabella; and many more loving relatives and dear friends.
