Obituary of Franco Colalillo
Please share a memory of Franco to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Franco Colalillo, passed away surrounded by his loving family, at his second home in Florida, on June 4, 2015, at the age of 60.
Born and raised in Corona, Queens, NY, Franco moved to Whitestone, Queens, NY at the age of 10. By the age of 26 he relocated to Denville, NJ where he raised his family, before relocating again to Flanders, NJ. After 27 years of hard work, he retired from AT&T as Manager of Information Technology in 2004 and went on to become Director of Market Surveillance for The New York Stock Exchange.
Franco was a very accomplished man with a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science from City College of New York, a Double Masters in Computer Science & Electrical Engineering from Columbia University in New York City, and a MBA in Finance from Fairleigh Dickinson University in Madison, NJ. He was an academic scholar with a strong desire for education. He had a passion for finance, the stock market, and, as an audiophile, high end stereo equipment.
Also known as "Frank the Tank" and "Viperman", he was an easy going, happy man that loved to have a good time; whether it was watching original Star Trek, at the beach, with his family, or in his Dodge Viper. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Left to mourn his loss is his beloved wife of 34 years, Dolores (nee Colalillo); his adored children Christopher Colalillo and his wife Tara of Spring Hill, TN, and Daniel Colalillo of New York City, NY; his devoted sister Angelina Colalillo; his caring in-laws, Tony & Angie, Lou & Eileen, and Jo & Cliff; his cherished nieces and nephews, Anthony, Robbie, Debbie, Paul, Michelle, Luke, and Jane; and many treasured relatives from New York and Canada.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, June 11th at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Trinity R.C. Church, 14-51 143rd St, Flushing, NY 11357. Entombment will follow at Mount St. Mary's Cemetery, 172-00 Booth Memorial Avenue, Flushing, NY 11365. Visitation will be held at Norman Dean Home for Services, 16 Righter Avenue, Denville, on Wednesday, June 10th from 2-4 & 7-9 pm. In lieu of flowers, the family would prefer you to make a donation in Franco's memory to Lustgarden Foundation, 1111 Stewart Avenue, Bethpage, NY 11714.
