Obituary of Louis DeVenuto

Louis J. DeVenuto Jr.,76, of Port Charlotte, FL, formerly of Denville, NJ passed away peacefully at Merry Heart Nursing Home on June 2, 2015. Born and raised in Woodside, NY, Louis moved to Denville in 1975 before retiring to Florida in 2008. He began a 25 year career at Sky Chefs as a truck driver at LaGuardia Airport and a union representative for the Teamsters. Louis was a former member of St. Mary's R.C. Church, Denville and currently a member of St. Francis of Assisi R.C. in FL. He coached for Denville PAL Hockey, Colonials Hockey and Seton Hall University. Louis was a family man who had the best time when he was with his wife, family and friends.
Predeceased by his parents, Louis and Catherine DeVenuto, and his brother Raymond, Louis is survived by his beloved wife of 53 years, Barbara (nee Mulligan); his loving children, Donna Zablatzky (Herman) of Denville, Barbara Jacobson (Dana) of Denville, Linda Rush (Steve) of Denville, and Louis DeVenuto III (Yinghui) of New York, NY; and his cherished grandchildren, Kyle, Melissa, Herman III, Dylan, William, Joseph, Michael, Jessica, Andrew, and Kevin.
Public Visitation will be held on Sunday, June 7, 2015 from 2-6 pm at the Norman Dean Home For Services, 16 Righter Avenue, Denville. A Funeral Service will take place at 5:30 that evening. Cremation services will be private. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital or the Alzheimer's Association.
