Obituary of Jon Alan Mine

Please share a memory of Jon to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Jon Mine passed away while vacationing on the Outer Banks of North Carolina. Jon was celebrating his 66th birthday with his loving family members from New Jersey and North Carolina. Born in Mansfield, Ohio, Jon grew-up in Rumson, NJ. He graduated from Valley Forge Military Academy and attended the University of Akron. Jon had a long career in sales which ultimately led to his position as owner and president of CBS International, a computer and business supply company. Jon retired in 2007 to spend more time with his four grandchildren and pursue his “tinkering” hobbies. A man of many talents, Jon built everything from computers, to cars, to assembling his grandchildren’s toys. He found great pleasure working on his projects and helping others out in any way he could. Jon resided in Bridgewater, NJ with his wife, Diane Burton. He is predeceased by his father, John (Jack) and survived by his mother, Eileen Mine, his brother Mark Mine and his wife Alice Mine all of Chapel Hill, NC. His son Alan Mine, daughter-in-law, Christine, and granddaughter, Gabrielle, son Christopher Mine, daughter-in-law, Caryanne and grandsons, Christopher Jon, Nicholas, and Daniel, his father and mother-in-law, Bill and Vera Burton, sister and brother-in laws: Patricia(Burton) and Peter Germain, Barbara(Burton) and Ken Thommen, Florence(Burton) and Michael Downs, as well as numerous nieces, and nephews, additional extended family members, Patricia Carolan, Gregg Carolan, Patrick Carolan, and devoted friends Norma and Harold Rangel. Jon strongly supported children’s medical needs and since he was an avid NASCAR fan, in lieu of flowers, please send donations (in Jon Mine’s name) to Kyle Petty’s Children’s Camp Foundation, www.victoryjunction.org, or 4500 Adams Way Randleman, NC 27317. A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday Sept. 4, 2013 at the Norman Dean Home for Services 16 Righter Ave. Denville, NJ at 12:00 Noon. Friends may visit with the family on Tuesday from 4-8 PM at the funeral home. Please share a memory of Jon by lighting a candle on our web site www.normandean.com.
