Obituary of Jessica Marie Baker
Jessica Marie Baker, 34, of Boonton, NJ, tragically passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, November 26, 2024.
Born in Belleville, NJ, to George and Tracey (Oliver) Baker in October 1990, Jessica’s warmth, humor, and infectious energy brightened the lives of everyone who knew her. She graduated from Boonton High School in 2008 and earned her bachelor’s degree from Rutgers University in 2013. Jessica dedicated over 10 years of her life to her career as an accountant with Curran & Company in Newark, NJ.
Growing up, Jessica had a love for sports, particularly field hockey, which she played throughout middle and high school. Her creativity also shone through in many ways–whether she was immersed in the vibrant world of anime, building Legos, or perfecting her crochet skills, she brought the same level of enthusiasm to every one of her various hobbies. Jessica was also a huge fan of Broadway musicals & Disney, often singing along to her favorite songs. Her love of sports extended to her unwavering support for the Philadelphia Eagles and the NY Red Bulls.
But above all, Jessica’s heart was centered on her family & friends. She adored her nieces with all her being, and her love for them was truly boundless. Her times spent with her beloved friends were always surrounded by laughter and good company. Jessica was also a proud pet mom to her beloved cat, Gary, who was a constant source of comfort and companionship. Jessica had an amazing way of lighting up any room she entered with her infectious laughter, kindness, and love for life. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her–her family, friends, colleagues, and everyone whose life she touched.
Jessica is survived by her mother, Tracey (Oliver) Latham; her stepfather, Thomas Latham; her sister, Nicole Baker and her fiancé, Casey Bennett; her stepsister, Ally Latham; her grandmother, Kaye (Savaloja) Oliver; her boyfriend, Nicky Lalueza; her nieces, Emma and Madison Bennett; along with her many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. She was predeceased by her father, George Baker; her brother, Michael Baker; her maternal grandfather, Nelson Oliver; and her paternal grandparents, George & Doris Baker.
Although Jessica’s time with us was far too short, her memory will live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Please join us on Tuesday, December 3rd from 4:00 to 8:00pm at Norman Dean Home for Services, 16 Righter Ave, Denville. A Prayer Service will be held at 7:15pm, followed by the eulogy and remembrances. Cremation will be private.
