Final Resting Place
Obituary of Rosemary T. Fuller
Rosemary Theresa Fuller passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 14, 2024 at Chatham Hills Subacute Care Center in Chatham, NJ. She had spent most of her retirement years at Saint Francis Residential Community in Denville, NJ, surrounded by a warm atmosphere and many friends.
Born and raised in Washington, D.C. to the late Josephine A. (Chartrand) and J. Harry Welch, Rosemary was the one of two daughters to bless the Welch household, along with her sister Joan. She graduated from Georgetown Visitation High School in Washington, D.C., in 1947 before attending Marymount College in Tarrytown, NJ. Rosemary earned her Bachelor of Arts Degree in English Literature in 1951. She met the first love of her life, Edmund Francis Duchesne, and the two were married in 1952. The happy couple settled into their first home in Washington, DC, and began a family of their own. Rosemary and Edmund would go on to raise and love five beautiful children. Edmund worked hard to support the family while Rosemary took care of everything and everyone at home. Unfortunately, their youngest son, Mark Christopher Duchesne, was diagnosed with cancer at the age of eight. Rosemary became his primary caregiver until his passing at the age of eighteen. Throughout all of the trials and tribulations of life, Rosemary never waivered when it came to her faith. When Edmund passed in May 1997, Rosemary once again kept her devotion to the church. She was blessed to meet another love, James F. Fuller; they wed in 2010 and settled in the St. Francis Residential Community in Denville. Rosemary was a devout Catholic, always attending Mass on Sundays. When she lived at St. Francis Residential Community in Denville, she would go to Mass every day possible. They remained a happy couple until his passing in 2018.
Although we are deeply saddened by Rosemary’s passing, we take comfort in knowing she is now reunited in Heaven with her parents Josephine and Harry, her first husband Edmund Duchesne, her son Mark, her second husband James Fuller, and her sister and brother-in-law, Joan and Walter Murphy. Her legacy will live on in the hearts of her adored children, Mary Ellen Duchesne-Lucadamo and her husband John Lucadamo of Milton, DE, Edmund F. Duchesne and his wife Sue of Stewartsville, NJ, Elizabeth "Beth" Marie Duchesne-Lust and her husband David Lust of Lewes, DE, and J. Harry Duchesne and family of MA; her cherished grandchildren, Matthew John Lucadamo, Mark Duchesne, Derrick Duchesne, Margaret Joanne Lust, Thomas James Lust, Solana and Isaiah Bethel; her caring nephews, Kevin, Christopher, Brendan, and Colin Murphy; and other dear extended family and friends.
Rosemary will be laid to rest, privately, with her son Mark, at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Silver Spring, MD. Please leave a condolence, light a candle, or share your favorite memory of Rosemary here to continue to celebrate her life and her radiance shine.
