Obituary of Edward K. King
Edward K. King, of Akron, Ohio, passed into God’s eternal kingdom on July 31, 2024. He had shared 96 years of unconditional love, infectious laughter, and unforgettable memories with family and friends.
Edward was born and raised in Stoughton, Mass. After graduating from High School, he enlisted in the US Navy, serving 3 years. He earned a BA Degree in Economics from Northeastern University in Boston. He retired from Glaxo-SmithKline after 37 years of service.
He is preceded in death by his first son, LTJG Edward F. King in 1980 and by his loving and cherished wife, Betty Lou in 2022. He is survived by his four children: Nancy (Bill) Kesting of MN, Eric (Holly) King of CO, Suzanne (David), and Sarah (Stephen) Smith of NJ. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Ed was a long-time member of Family of Faith Methodist Church in Akron, a Third Degree Master Mason, and an active member in the Yusef Khan Grotto.
