My family and I met Mr. Kilmeyer when I was just 7 years old. He was one of the funniest, kindest, and sweetest men I’ve ever had the pleasure of knowing. All of us kids at Union Hill Presbyterian adored him and he always made me feel valued as the one of the very few if not only black girls in church. I remember being excited to see him at school during every Veterans Day. As a first generation American, I didn’t have family who served in the military but he always allowed me to celebrate him on that day as if I was one of his family members. That’s a true testament to the kind of man he was and the way he led his family because they were all just as wonderful. To the entire Kilmeyer family, the Leger’s send their love and condolences, he will forever remain in our hearts.

Jack was the BEST! There was never a time that he didn't have a gleam in his eyes, a smile on his face or a joke ready on his lips! Jack was such a fun, joyful, positive, generous person - you never left his sight feeling anything but happy from your time with him. Jack will be missed by everyone!
Listen carefully - you might hear the angels laughing at his jokes already!!

Jack taught folks to enjoy life and put a piece of sillies in their day.. But he was a serious supporter of many. He is among the few in life that will be remembered in a special way. The Committee To Preserve The Knuth Farm and The Ayres/Knuth Farm Foundation were appreciative of his support for many years. His encouragement and valued ideas were solid. Thank you for sharing him.

Condolences to the Killmeyer family. I will never forget his reaction, on Lakeview's first Veterans Day Celebration, when his young son Todd held the "B" upside down when reciting LIBERTY.

Jack was a fun and loving man. Met Jack and Joanne when our son joined the marching band. I worked for Joanne for a number of months in 2008, and most days started with a joke from Jack! Our sincere condolences on your loss. Jack will be missed by many.

No words can express our love of Uncle Jack, my dad’s best friend from Con Edison and beyond. Always a jokester but a staunch supporter of our family, always. Nothing but loving memories.

My condolences and please know that my thoughts are with friends and family.
I came to take care of Jack from 8/11/22 to 7/31/24 and I took him as a father. Jack was a good man and a man with immense humor and an also very caring. When I sneeze he will ask me are you okay and I will respond I was just sneezing and he will respond I was just asking. I will be displaying his photo in my house in Ghana for infinite remembrance. We miss you Jack. May your soul rest in perfect peace.

Stand up and cheer, Mr. Killmeyer is here! Was Jacks greeting to the preschoolers when he regularly entered the school that he was instrumental in starting. We are sure that was the greeting he received upon entering his final resting place! You will be sorely missed down here Jack. Love, Patty

"Happy Wife, Happy Life," would be a phrase that would always remind me of Jack. During church at Union Hill Presbyterian that was something he would say often when he and his beloved Joanne would be sitting in the pew. He was such a wonderful man who I have had the pleasure of working with when he was a substitute at Lakeview Elementary School and I always looked forward to seeing him when the school had their veterans day celebration. I enjoyed his company these past few months when I was able to take him to his doctor's appointments and we would have great conversations. He will be missed!

When I was a child, after we had moved to New City, NY, my Mom and Dad threw a party at the house. Some of the guests were coming from out of town, Uncle Jack and family included. Right as the get together was to begin, we heard a ruckus in the street on which we lived. As we all ran to the front of the house to see what was going on, we saw Uncle Jack riding on top of his family's station wagon, whooping and carrying on like a banshee as the car drove down the street. Such a jokester and wild man! The neighbors were still talking about it years later!
