Obituary of Barbara Ellen Titus

Please share a memory of Barbara to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Barbara Ellen Titus passed away peacefully with her loving family by her side on Thursday, July 18, 2024 at Morristown Medical Center in Morristown. She was just five days away from spending 86 years of love and laughter with family and friends.

Born in Goldville, SC to the late Vernon Lever and Rosa May Moates, Barbara was one of five daughters to bless their household. Barbara was raised by her father and Stepmother Lila Lever. She and her sisters grew up thick as thieves together in South Carolina. Vernon was a dedicated veteran who unfortunately had to move around quite a bit with his family before they were able to settle down in Jersey City, NJ. Barbara made a successful and lengthy career as a Bookkeeper. She had started working at furniture stores and ultimately retired from Marty’s Shoe Outlet in Secaucus.

Barbara was a simple woman. She was happiest when spending time with family. She loved to cook and boy did she create some delicious meals! Barbara was overjoyed to be able to meet and spend so much time with not only her children and grandchildren, but great-grandchildren as well. Her heart was full when her house was filled with all the children. She actually enjoyed the family mayhem. She was an incredible Mom who will be forever missed and never forgotten. Although we are saddened by her passing, we take comfort in knowing she is now reunited with her parents and siblings, Annette, Lillian, Kathy, and Jan.

Her legacy will live on in the hearts of her adored family, her loving children, Ralph Grisi and his wife Diana and Ronna Joyce; her cherished grandchildren, Rachel Domingues and her husband Mark, Adam Grisi and his wife Megan, and Charlie Werdan; her cherished great-grandchildren, Amelia and Gabriel Domingues and Evan and Owen Grisi; and many more dear extended family and friends.

All services will be private. Please leave a condolence, light a candle, and share your favorite memory of Barbara here to continue to celebrate her life and let her radiance continue to shine.
