Yolanda Marie Riley, 57, of Morristown, NJ, formerly of Boonton, passed away surrounded by her family and friends on Friday, July 12, 2024, after fighting a courageous battle against cancer.
Born in Jersey City to Stanley and Catherine Plesniarski in October 1966, Yolanda graduated from Dickinson High School and Katharine Gibbs School. She was a resident of Boonton for many years and a local parishioner at Our Lady of Mount Carmel.
Yolanda worked as a surgical coordinator at North Jersey Dermatology for over 10 years. She was also a hairdresser that worked in various salons and made house visits for close friends and family her entire adult life. Yolanda loved making people look fabulous and feel their best! In her younger years she worked at Goldman Sachs and briefly as a loan officer at Santander Bank.
More than anything else, Yolanda loved spending quality time with her daughters. She enjoyed beach days and going out to dinner with family and friends, a morning cup of coffee, shopping for a new perfume, reading a great book, dancing at parties, and a crisp refreshing glass of white wine. Yolanda loved all of the vacations she took with her family, especially to Aruba, Las Vegas for her nieces wedding, annual ski trips to New Hampshire, and summer trips to LBI.
She was predeceased by her father, Stanley Plesniarski; her nephew, Robert Chmura; and her
grandmother, Maria Szybowska. Yolanda is survived by her daughters, Amanda Riley and Jessica Riley; her mother, Catherine Plesniarski; her siblings, Mary Ann Victoratos and her husband, Victor; Lucy Chmura and her husband, Romek; and John Plesniarski and his wife, Regina; her nieces and nephews, Michelle Chmura, Patricia Chmura-Saez (Chris), John Plesniarski (Jill) , Diana Ramos (Jason), Dimitri Victoratos, Christopher Chmura (Michele) , Michelle Ridgway (Brett), Kristina Gardenier (Steven), and Peter Victoratos; her great nieces and nephews, Nicholas Plesniarski, Emilia Victoratos, Benjamin Ramos, Alexis Saez, Grayson Ridgway, Marissa Plesniarski, Gattlin Ridgway, Zachary Ramos, Sofia Victoratos, Theo Victoratos, and Natasha Saez; as well as her large extended family and close circle of friends.
Please visit with the family on Tuesday, July 16th, from 4:00 - 8:00pm at Norman Dean Home for Services, Denville. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, July 17th in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Boonton at 11:00am, followed by interment at Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington.
