In Loving Memory of Aunt Florence
On our first day in the United States, I was scared. I had left everything I had ever known and was going to an unknown land. But then I met Aunt Florence. The first thing she said to me was "Welcome to the United States. Are you hungry? I already made dinner and I will wait for you to come." I felt my uneasiness leave me. With her first few sentences, she gave me a familial comfort I was longing for. I could feel the care she had for me. That care has continued for the whole time I have had the honor of knowing her.
From her smallest actions, I could feel Aunt Florence's love and affection. Her patience and support touched my heart. She was like a mother to me, showing me how to love and care for others.
Thank you and Uncle Peter for being a rock in my life. I am sad that we won't be able to make any new memories together, but I will cherish the ones we have created. You will always live in my heart. I love you very much, and I'll miss you. May you rest in peace.
Love Shang Fen (Stephanie Glass)

In loving memory of Aunt Florence,
Aunt Florence's kindness and the enduring bond she shared with our family is a testament to the love and compassion shed embodied. In the 1940s and onwards, as circumstances changed, her family's support meant the world to us. They provided a helping hand when it was needed the most. Aunt Florence's warm heart extended not only to my father but also to my own children, making her a cherished part of our lives.
Her legacy of love, generosity, and kindness will forever be etched in our hearts. Aunt Florence was more than a family member. We are deeply saddened by her passing, but we are also immensely grateful for the time we shared with her.
Aunt Florence, your memory will live on in the countless lives you touched, and we will forever carry your legacy of love and kindness forward. Rest in peace, dear Aunt Florence. You will be missed but never forgotten.
--Love

In Memory of Florence Y. Lee
Growing up in China, I, Yide Lee, always cherished the moments when Aunt Florence Y and Uncle Chang Y would journey from the US to be with our family. Their visits were more than just reunions. They came bearing simple joys like delicious snacks and captivating magazines, bringing a brightness to our lives during that times when such comforts were scarce. But above all, it was their unwavering support, both emotionally and financially, that empowered me to complete my medical graduate studies.
Aunt Florence's character remains vivid in my memory – her optimism, her infectious cheerfulness, and her innate elegance. In recent years, whenever I phoned my uncle, her familiar voice would greet me on the other end of the line at first, bringing warmth and comfort. The passing of Uncle Chang three years ago was a profound loss, and now, with Aunt Florence's sudden departure, a deep void has emerged in our lives.
To Aunt Florence: Your love, encouragement, and unwavering support have shaped many of my life's journeys. The pain of your loss is immeasurable, but the love and memories we shared will forever remain. You are dearly missed.
