Obituary of Lori Ann Dahl
It is with great sadness that we must announce the passing of Lori Ann Dahl, a Green Pond resident who courageously battled with cancer for over 5 years. She passed away on September 8th, 2023.
Lori was born in April of 1964 to Robert and Gladys Probst. She was raised in Staten Island alongside her two brothers, Mark and Robert, and graduated from Curtis High School. In 1989, Lori would make the decision to marry the love of her life, John Dahl, and on October 15th she officially became Lori Dahl.
Lori and John made their home in the Green Pond area of Rockaway, New Jersey, where they would raise their two wonderful children, Christopher and Kirsten. Lori worked as a server in downtown Denville at Denville Seafood. In her free time, Lori enjoyed spending her time with family. Some of her favorite activities included taking trips to their house in Florida as well as frequent camping trips to upstate New York. Lori enjoyed being surrounded by nature, even when she was home, which brought her to her love of gardening. She was also a wonderful cook as well as an excellent baker. At the end of a long day, you could find Lori cuddled up with the family dog, just enjoying the company of her beloved family.
Though we are hurt by her passing, we take comfort in knowing that Lori is at peace. We now look to those she leaves behind to carry on her memory. Her survivors include her husband, John Dahl, her children, Christopher Dahl, Kirsten Dahl, her brothers, Mark Probst, Robert Probst, her aunt, Evelyn Eklof, as well as a wealth of extended family, friends, coworkers, and neighbors. Please keep these people in your thoughts and prayers.
If you would like to contribute to Lori’s memory in your own way, please consider making a charitable contribution to the American Cancer Society by way of inmemof.org.
A public visitation will be held for Lori on Friday, September 15th, 2023, from 1 - 5 PM at Norman Dean Home for Services, 16 Righter Avenue, Denville, NJ. All are welcome to come and celebrate the life of this wonderful woman. Please leave a condolence, light a candle, and share your favorite memory of Lori here to continue to celebrate her life and let her light shine.
