Joann Stroble

Obituary of Joann Ruth Stroble

Please share a memory of Joann to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Joann R. Stroble, a Mine Hill resident, formerly of Roxbury, passed away at
St. Clare’s Hospital in Denville, NJ on August 24 th , 2023, at the age of 74.
Joann was born to Joseph and Gloria Nunn in November of 1948 in Glen
Gardner, New Jersey. From there, her family moved to Hackettstown, where she
spent most of her childhood. Another move brought her to Roxbury, where Joann
would graduate high school. In 2010, she moved with her son Michael and his
family to Mine Hill.
Joann worked a few jobs over the years, but took on the job of caretaker
for her mother for many years. Joann was a kind and caring woman that was
always thinking of others. She often gave gifts to her friends with no reason other
than she felt like it. She had an abundance of compassion and was always friendly
to everyone she met. In her free time, Joann was an avid reader. Once she moved
in with her son, Michael, she ended up compiling a hoard of books so large that
they had to convert her to a Kindle. She could read dozens of books a month and
once she completed one it wasn’t long before she picked up another one. During
the day she would read downstairs with the family dog, Max, and at the end of
the day she would cuddle up to the family cat, Snickers.
Though we are saddened by the loss of such a beautiful soul, we take
comfort in knowing that she is at peace. We look now to those she leaves behind
to carry on her memory. Her survivors include her son, Michael Stroble and his
wife, Deborah, her grandchildren, James D. Fasulo Jr. & Emily DiGiorgi, the
family’s beloved pets, and her son, Joseph Stroble. If you would like to contribute
to her memory in your own way, please consider making a charitable contribution
to the American Cancer Society by way of inmemof.org.
Hours of public visitation for Joann are scheduled for Tuesday, August 29th,
from 4 to 8 PM at Norman Dean Home for Services with a funeral service being
held at 6 PM. All are welcome to come and celebrate the life of this wonderful
woman. Please leave a condolence, light a candle, and share your favorite
memory of Joann here to continue to celebrate her life and let her light shine.
