Obituary of Kenneth Robert Decker
Kenneth R. "Bob" Decker, of Rockaway Township, born in 1926, went home to his Lord, surrounded by his loved ones, on March 6, 2021. He was a lifelong resident of Rockaway Twp., and former owner of Decker Excavating. He was a proud veteran of World War II. He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Adele, daughter Laura Petrillo and her husband, Nicholas, son Bobby, grandson Kyle Murray, honorary grandson Thomas Petrillo Jr and many nieces, nephews, grand nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents George L and Anna D. Decker, sisters Mildred Ridner, Georgiana Wolosin, Elizabeth Wolfe and Laura Ellen Decker. He served 75 years as a Mason with Jephthah Lodge #233 where he held the position of Master and Grand Chaplain. He was a 12 gallon blood donor to the Masonic Blood Bank. Bob also belonged to the Scottish Rite. He was a member of the American Legion Post #144, member of NMRA and a model train enthusiast and collector. He and his wife enjoyed many train trips and trips to Vermont, searching out covered bridges, a favorite pastime. He was also a grandfather to four cherished pets, Yoda, Kramer, Monk and Trixie. Memorial services to be announced, burial will be private.
