Obituary of Linda A. Walsh

Please share a memory of Linda to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Linda A. Walsh passed away peacefully with her loving family by her side on Wednesday, July 12, 2023. She had shared 70 years of unconditional love, laughter, strength, and unforgettable memories with family and friends.

Born in Paterson to the late Gerrit and Jeanette Maas, she was the youngest child to bless the Maas household. Raised in Waldwick alongside her two brothers, she graduated from Waldwick High School, Class of 1971. She then attended Thiel College in Greenville, Pennsylvania, majoring in Biology. In 1974, she married Steven Ilovichny and settled into the Glacier Hills section of Parsippany. She was employed with Crum & Forster Insurance in Convent Station as the Financial Controller for 10 years before finding her true calling, being a Mom! When her children were old enough, Linda went back to work for Copier Service Solutions Corporation in Rockaway as the Office Manager. Unfortunately, Steven passed in 2000. Linda was blessed to have met a second love, Paul H. Walsh; the two were wed on July 27, 2002 and as they say, the rest is history. In 2013, the happy couple officially retired to Bridgeville, Delaware.

Linda truly broke the mold when she was born. She was kind and selfless; she always remained positive to all of life’s possibilities, even after being diagnosed with Multifocal Motor Neuropathy (MMN), a rare autoimmune disorder similar to ALS. She never let that slow her down or stop enjoying life! Linda and Paul loved spending time in the garden tending to her beautiful flowers. She enjoyed traveling, the outdoors, and spending as much time as possible with the grandchildren. Even after being diagnosed with cancer, she continued to thrive, the best way possible making memories with the ones she loved the most. She was someone we truly admired and will continue to look up to for generations to come. Although we are deeply saddened by her passing, we take comfort in knowing she is now reunited with her first husband, Steven, and her parents in Heaven.

Her legacy will continue in the hearts of her beloved husband of 20 years, Paul H. Walsh of Bridgeville, DE; her adored daughters, Lindsay Anne Jones and her husband Robert of Denville, NJ and Erin Susanne Stutz and her husband Robert of Randolph, NJ; her loving step-children, Emily Edsall and her husband Jason, Daniel Walsh and his wife Beth, and Amy Batz and her husband Luke; her cherished grandchildren, Brady, Keegan, and Leah Jones, Madeline and Everett Stutz, Jacob and Abigail Edsall, and Lily and Natalie Batz; her caring brothers, Ronald Maas and Dennis Maas and his wife Deborah; and many dear extended family and lifelong friends.

Public Memorial Visitation will take place on Friday, July 21st from 3 - 7 pm at Norman Dean Home for Services, 16 Righter Avenue, Denville. Funeral Service will take place on Saturday, July 22nd at 10:00 am at the Funeral Home, followed by an immediate burial at Westwood Cemetery, 23 Kinderkamack Rd, Westwood, NJ 07675.
