Obituary of Brian T. McCluskey

Brian T McCluskey, Age 74 (of Denville) Son of the late Harry and Madeline McCluskey. Left to carry on his memory is his wife Peg McCluskey for a loving 42 years and their daughter Erin McCluskey. Brother of Lynn Murphy and Hugh McCluskey. Brother-in-law of Bill Mournes and Jack Murphy. As well as, many loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. 

 

Brian enjoyed cooking, sailing, white water rafting, reading, genealogy, westerns, and world travel. But his greatest joy was being a husband and Dad. In addition, he organized family vacations to National Parks including mule trips down the Grand Canyon. His most beloved times were with his family on adventure walks, bike riding, walking the dog, or picking apples. It was the everyday moments he treasured most. 

 

Brian graduated from St. Anselm`s College with a BA in History. He received a graduate degree from the University of Denver in Hotel and restaurant management. He was proud to have served in the U.S Navy as a quartermaster in ship navigation. He had stories of being part of a NATO fleet in the North Atlantic. Brian was president of Shercock Appraisal, a commercial real estate appraisal company. He was a devoted member of St. Mary's parish and the American Legion and a generous volunteer with the Meals on Wheels program. 

 

His courage, tenacity, and resilience in dealing with the battle of Parkinson’s disease is a model of strength for all of us.

 

A public visitation to honor and celebrate Brian will be held on Wednesday, July 5th, from 4:00PM to 8:00PM at Norman Dean Home for Services, 16 Righter Avenue, Denville, NJ. A Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, July 6th, at 10:00AM at St. Mary’s Church, 15 Myers Avenue, Denville. In lieu of flowers, Memorial Donations are being accepted in his memory to Denville Rescue Squad and can be made through way of https://inmemof.org/brian-mccluskey.
