Obituary of Daniel Tidridge

Please share a memory of Daniel to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

I may not know what a day may bring, but I know who brings the day.

Our Dan was born on October 24, 1969, in Glen Cove, NY to Elizabeth Tidridge, and from the time he was 3, by the man he called Dad, Ronald Nelson.

Shortly after an honorable discharge from the army, Dan was employed as a bus driver for Rockaway Township Transportation. He was an absolutely dedicated employee. Dan loved God, family, and this country. Dan bravely served in the regular Army and the New Jersey National Guard for almost 20 years, earning multiple commendation and achievement medals and the Expert Drivers Badge over the course of Operations Desert Storm, Noble Eagle, and Iraqi Freedom. Dan’s faithfulness to God and family was unwavering. To him, you could not have one without
the other.

Almost 13 years ago, Dan took on what would be his most remarkable role, and that was the love and dedication he showed for his big instant family. There is not enough pen and paper to write all that he has done out of the love of his heart. Dan is survived by his wife Beth; parents Elizabeth and Ronald Nelson, mother in law Judy, Sisters in law Lirelle Michele and Kristen; his Uncle Al and Aunt Linda; his Uncle Daniel and Aunt Darlene; and by his family, the McCormicks, the Fasano’s, and the Mitchells, and many cousins. He is also survived by his stepchildren; Michael, his wife Paige, and children Hailey and Christian, Christopher, his wife Shannon, Travis, and his fiance Samantha, Caroline, and her husband Josh and son Xavier. Along with many loving nieces and nephews.

Dan is also predeceased by his brother-in-law John, nephews Shaun, and Kevin, and his battle buddy and best friend Sgt. Bill Blahut. He made beautiful memories with his four “Step Dan” kids and three grandchildren who called him “Danpa” and “Dan the Man” we were all so fortunate to spend this last Father's Day with Dan.

Military Funeral Honors for Sgt. Tidridge will be held Saturday, July 15th, 2023 at 2PM located at Northern New Jersey Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 75 North Church Road, Sparta NJ 07871. In lieu of flowers, Dan wished for donations to support Tunnel to Towers Foundation, and can be made through way of https://inmemof.org/daniel-tidridge.

May you have the heart of Christ, tender for mercy. May you have the eyes of Christ to see a world in need. May you have the feet of Christ to bring good news. Go in peace and God go with you.
