Obituary of Marguerite Ann Buggy
Marguerite Ann Buggy passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by family on Friday May 19, 2023. Marguerite was a loving mother, sister, aunt, grandmother and a wonderful, caring friend.
Marguerite was born and raised in the Bronx, NY. She was the eldest of three children and from a very early age was a great support to her mother helping care for her younger, mentally challenged brother. After high school the family moved to Rockaway NJ where Marguerite resided most of her life. She bought a home, had three children who she loved with all her heart and tirelessly worked two jobs to support her family as a single mother. For over 25 years she was a devoted employee at Radiology Technology in Rockaway Township retiring as a department manager. In retirement, she spent her free time doing volunteer work including deliveries for Meals on Wheels-where every meal was accompanied by personal time spent with the recipient, chatting and letting them know she cared- and teaching Sunday school at her church, St. Cecilia Roman Catholic Church. And of course, always being there for her family.
Marguerite was the Matriarch of her family, her strength was the glue that kept them all together. She made every holiday a special one - family over for holidays always knew they were going to have a great meal, she was a wonderful cook. Marguerite always gave her all. She was artistic, musical, and loved playing piano. She had the opportunity to travel, exploring the world and loving Hawaii and Europe. But, above all Marguerite was a strong, caring, and selfless person who will be sorely missed by all.
Marguerite’s memory will live on through her children Michelle Baumeister, Ann Marie (Roni) Van Houten, and Kevin (Cindy) Buggy; her sweet grandchildren Charles Van Houten, Jesse (Donna) Van Houten, and Tyler Van Houten; her cherished great grandchildren Porter and Palmer Van Houten; her devoted brother Mitch (Lynn) Baumeister and sons Jared and Matthew Baumeister, as well as her sister-in-law Kathy (Stu) Hannah and nieces Joan, Eileen, and Kathleen. Although we are deeply saddened by her passing, we take comfort in knowing that she is now reunited in Heaven with her parents Charles and Ann Baumeister, and brother George Baumeister.
A memorial service will be held Friday, May 26th, 2023 from 3-7PM at Norman Dean Home for Services, 16 Righter Avenue, Denville. Please leave a condolence, light a candle, and share your favorite memory of Marguerite here to continue to celebrate the special life she bestowed upon us.
